Mean percentage bias was calculated as ((estimated home range size – true home range size) × 100 / true home range size) for fixed and adaptive-kernel techniques using three choices of smoothing parameter (h lscv , h ref , and h ad hoc ), and seven sampling frequencies. Error bars are standard deviations for n = 20 elk.
