  1. Dist. is the distance between gliders, Wind is wind speed from the nearest NDBC buoy, W. Depth is the depth of the water estimated by the receiving glider altimeter, Density is the density of the sea water measured by the receiving glider, Strat. is the difference between surface and bottom densities measured by the receiving glider, Cur. is the glider estimated depth integrated currents, Depth is the depth of the receiving glider, Pitch is the angle of descent of the receiving glider, Bearing is the bearing of the transmitting glider in relation to the receiving glider, Roll is the roll of the receiving glider, and Region refers to the three major geographic areas where detections occurred in Fig. 1
