A Colour-ringed red knot in winter plumage, bearing a WATLAS tag glued to its rump; the tag antenna can be seen extending beyond the tail to the right of the image as indicated with the red arrow. WATLAS tags allow free movement of the wings and fall off as the feathers underneath the tag regrow.
